The bald eagle surveys its surroundings for prey to feed its brood. Fish is their most important food. Spotting one, a bald eagle circles and approaches low over the water flying at speeds of 33-44 miles per hour. Eagles approach fish from an angle that avoids detection. Once it has caught it's meal, the eagle is capable of flying 30 miles per hour while carrying the fish in its powerful talons.
