Bald eagles spend much of their time on lookout perches, quietly surveying the landscape for their next meal. Perched in a tree, an eagle carefully observes his surroundings in hopes of finding his next meal which may consist of fish, waterfowl, muskrats, squirrels or rabbits. Eagles are seldom seen far from water where they hunt regularly to provide a steady supply of food for their young.
